Scania (Great Britain) and dealership Moseley have announced that, subject to contract, they will be working together to bring the Scania/Van Hool combination back to the UK market.
Scania would supply the chassis for the coach, which will be sold exclusively through the three Moseley companies: Moseley (PCV), Moseley in the South and Moseley Distributors.
It is more than a decade since the combination was available and comes as MAN-powered Van Hools are no longer available, leaving integral DAF-engined versions as the only Van Hools for the UK market at Euro 6.
Initially it is envisaged that the combination would be only available in limited numbers as a two-axle 12.2m Alicron variant, typically as a 49-seat touring coach with drinks facilities, air conditioning, double-glazing and alloy wheels.
Commenting on the new proposed partnership, MD Karl Moseley says: “All three companies are delighted at the prospect of working with Scania and our partners at Van Hool on this project, and look forward to developing more models with them in the future.â€
