Lake District tour operator, Mountain Goat, has started a new luxury touring experience under the banner of Park Tours, an operator that it has recently bought. .
The award-winning tour operator is using the Park Tours brand to promote luxury, chauffeur-driven tours in a Mercedes Viano, which has just been added to the fleet.
The new service will offer collection from an airport, railway station or other convenient place and a number of tour options. Clients can choose their own itinerary, which will be individually priced for them.
Accommodation can be suggested from Park Tours’ partner hotels, including the four-star Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel, a former home of Beatrix Potter.
A bespoke experience can be created by the Mountain Goat team, whether the guest wishes to go walking, go shopping, learn to cook, visit local food artisans or explore a hobby.
Added extras can also be included, such as champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries, or a picnic of traditional Lakeland delicacies.
The launch of the service has been customer-led, with various clients having expressed a desire to explore the Lakes, northern England and Scotland, with expert guides, but on a private basis. Creating bespoke packages last year has led to the creation of the new luxury tour option in 2014.
Mountain Goat’s Robin Tyson says: “We have listened to what some customers wanted and have developed a solution to offer to them, which will comprise a luxury, idyllic experience from beginning to end. We believe we have the ultimate ‘luxury in the Lakes’ experience.â€
