Smith Brothers enjoys washing boom

The exponential increase in the number of coach and bus registrations is fuelling growth in the sector.

Smith Brothers & Webb, manufacturers of Britannia Washing Systems, says it is “enjoying a huge surge of enquiries” for its Streamline and Strong washing systems, with a number of orders being placed from the coach and bus market.

The Alcester, Warwickshire-based firm has installed nearly 2,000 washes in the UK.

UK successes include bespoke washing systems for the New Routemaster in London, and worldwide include Hong Kong and Australia. It says that its full maintenance service, using its own engineers, is also proving “to be particularly popular.”

“It is a big growth sector and one which gave us a huge kick-start in the early part of 2015, with little sign of the trend slowing down,” says Director Andy Barracliffe.
