South Notts upgrade

Seven Scania ADL Enviro400s have begun operating on Nottingham City Transport’s South Notts-branded route 1.

The 15-plate double-deckers have free Wi-Fi, audio announcements, real-time technology and interior green mood lighting.

NCT Marketing Manager, Anthony Carver-Smith, says: “As South Notts 1 is one of our longer routes, we wanted to ensure our customers would be travelling in as much comfort as possible. So, along with the free Wi-Fi, slip-resistant Altro flooring and interior mood lighting, we’ve also invested in high-back seating on the upper deck, which will make journeys just that bit more pleasant for passengers.”

Award-winning NCT prides itself on continually investing in its service for the benefit of its customers. The seven new vehicles are the first of 22 due for delivery before the end of the year. They follow the purchase of 40 new buses which all began operating in 2014.

The remaining 15 new buses will be on the road in September and will be used to upgrade key routes in the city.
