Stagecoach South East has spent £3.4m on 17 new double-deckers for the ‘Triangle’ route between Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay.
The 17 ADL Enviro400 MMCs have free Wi-Fi and USB charging points, as well as high-back moquette seats, tinted windows and air chill.
They’re part of a wider investment in the region, one of the biggest ever in Kent. Stagecoach South East Managing Director Philip Norwell says: “We believe that at £11m, Stagecoach’s order for 55 brand new double-decks during this year of our centenary is the largest ever in the county of Kent, and reaffirms our policy of reinvesting in the local communities which we serve.
“The Triangle maintains important links across the district and with a simplified timetable also being introduced we hope to tempt even more people to try the service.”
