East Midlands operator Trent Barton is to invest £3.5m in 22 new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 MMCs that will enter service from November.
They will be introduced to its Mickleover and Nines services which link Derby with Mickleover and Mansfield respectively.
The operator has chosen a high specification for the new buses, including wood-effect flooring, LED lighting, audio-visual next-stop announcements, free Wi-Fi and USB charging points at every seat.
Says MD Jeff Counsell: “We’ve worked closely with Alexander Dennis to take these buses to a new level and offer passengers something exciting and unique. We’re confident in saying that these buses will be the best in the country.”
The new Enviro200s will be built at Scarborough. Eight will be 11.8m, 42-seaters, and the remainder will be 10.8m long seating 38.
