Fire Hits Stanways Coaches

The premises of Rode Heath, Cheshire-based Stanways Coaches have been hit by a serious fire.

Eight fire appliances, including three from neighbouring Staffordshire, attended at 2023hrs on Monday (24 March), with Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service reporting multiple coaches among the vehicles destroyed.

Two fire investigation officers and one appliance remained on site on Tuesday morning and officers were working with the police to determine the cause of the fire. Stanways has an O-Licence for 12 vehicles and is predominantly engaged on school contracts. routeone was unable to contact the firm as it closed for press.
