It’s all in the design

Bus shelters and bus stations are such an everyday object that it is easy to overlook or stroll right past them, but these striking designs beg to differ.

Design Curial magazine has announced the world's 10 best-designed bus stations. Encompassing everything from giant chairs to leaf-like shapes, curling waves of mosaic to more traditional designs, you’ll be pleased to know that the UK is well represented with Preston (its 1960s example), plus the new ones at Norwich, Stoke-on-Trent and Slough.

The winner is Unterkrumbach Nord Bus Stop at Vorarlberg, Austria, pictured above.
