MBE honour for Richmond’s boss’s CPT work

David Richmond, 74, of Barley, Hertfordshire-based Richmonds Coaches, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. The honour is for “services to the Confederation of Passenger Transport UK and to charity in Royston, Hertfordshire.” .

David Richmond is the son of the firm’s 1946 founder, Harold. The 25-coach firm is now run by David’s son, Andrew.

Says CPT Director of Communications Christopher Nice: “We are delighted to have learned that David’s services to the industry’s trade association have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

“David has devoted a huge amount of time to the CPT Council for many years and is also the Honorary Treasurer of our London and South East Region.”
