Plymouth Citybus wins award for responsibility

Plymouth Citybus has won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the local Herald Business Awards. .

Judges were impressed by the operator’s effort to contribute to the community over the past year, particularly its commitment to helping long-term unemployed people back into work in partnership with City College Plymouth and Jobcentre Plus.

It has employed 19 drivers through this innovative recruitment programme, which incorporates sector-based work academies focusing on key skills and training.

Managing Director Richard Stevens says: “The award was won by the efforts of every member of the Citybus team, and recognises our efforts to be good community partners. We all feel extremely proud of this achievement, and of being recognised by the city.”
