Traffic Commissioner awards first CPT Engineering Manager Accreditations

The first people to achieve the CPT’s Bus and Coach Engineering Manager Accreditation received their certificates from Traffic Commissioner Kevin Rooney at the show.

Craig Boiling, of Travel de Courcey, and Ian Scott of Stanley Travel, are the first to be awarded the accreditation, launched in July.

They have both been subject to a rigorous assessment over two days by Lloyd Morgan, the CPT’s compliance partner.

As part of the accreditation, both engineering managers become affiliate and associate members of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Craig Boiling told routeone: “I’m very proud to achieve this. The assessment covered a whole range of the business’ engineering practices, and was very comprehensive and very intense, but also thoroughly enjoyable.

“I recommend this accreditation to all Engineering Managers and see it as a fundamental part of their personal development programmes.”

Ian Scott added: “I read about the CPT’s new accreditation in routeone and decided to go for it. I was a bit apprehensive – the assessment was pretty intensive, and went through every single aspect of the business’ engineering management and all our procedures.

“But I’m really happy and proud – it’s a great accolade for the business, and it was nice to be presented with the certificate by Kevin Rooney.”
