TV personality Ferne McCann gets PCV licence to encourage more female drivers

Reality TV star Ferne McCann has got her PCV licence after training with Stagecoach as part of a campaign to attract more female bus drivers.

Ferne, who has previously appeared on The Only Way is Essex and I’m A Celebrity….Get Me Out Of Here!, announced the news to her millions of social media followers.

Ferne passed her test after 12 days’ training to encourage more women to consider a career in driving

The TV star’s training was carried out by Stagecoach London Driving Instructor Yvonne Wallin at the company’s West Ham depot in London.

Says Ferne: “I had no idea how much work goes into running buses. I take my hat off to the drivers I’ve met and I really hope my involvement has made more women think about bus driving as a career option.”

Stagecoach Driving Instructor Yvonne Wallin adds: “Ferne has certainly been an interesting trainee to work with. Her personality has really lit up the whole depot and this campaign has got everyone talking, which is exactly what we wanted. Hopefully it will help us attract more female bus drivers.

“I’m really proud of her and wish her the best of luck on her next challenge, whatever that might be.”
