Continental has launched a new tyre range for intercity coach and bus use: Conti CoachRegio. It is tailored to shorter distance and interurban services, and for use on school coaches.
The manufacturer says that the product gives excellent handling and high mileage capability. It is available as an all-axle casing and as a dedicated drive axle tyre.
The Continental CoachRegio range is comes at size 295/80 R22.5.
The drive axle tyre will also be available under the ContiRe brand from Q4 2020, manufactured using Continental’s hot retreading solution to provide multiple casing lives.
Conti CoachRegio products include 3PMSF marking. Each tyre has an EU label rating of C for fuel efficiency and B for wet grip. The all-axle casing gives a rolling noise of 71dBa and the drive axle tyre records 73dBa.
Says Lutz Stäbner, Head of Product Management for Continental bus and truck tyres in EMEA: “With this new line, our balanced compound has enabled us to overcome the technical challenge of developing a tyre with increased safety and mileage while also delivering low rolling resistance.”
The drive axle tyre is additionally designed to minimise damage from kerb impacts.
