Software-as-a-service ticketing and payment provider Masabi has announced that Denver’s Regional Transport District will be the first bus operator to benefit from an integrated public transport experience within the Uber app.
Bus passengers in Denver will be able to select a new Transit option, which will allow them to plan their bus journey with real-time information and step-by-step directions.
In addition, the ability to purchase mobile tickets will soon be offered directly via the app, powered by Masabi’s Justride platform.
Masabi says that this launch will help Uber users to more easily discover and access public transport services, while also making multimodal journeys using shared private and public transit options easier and more accessible.
Justride allows urban mobility providers such as journey planners and bike and ride-sharing services, to integrate mobile ticketing into their applications.
Says Masabi CEO Brian Zanghi: “Uber paved the way for a new paradigm in urban mobility, and we are excited to power seamless connectivity between Uber’s options and public transport, reducing the number of cars on the road and enabling more on-demand transportation.”
