Single-access portal gives users simple and easy interface with all installed on-vehicle system
Visitors to the show could see a demonstration of the new user interface of 21st Century’s cloud-based portal Journeo Transit, which gives fleet operating companies full insight into the technology installed within their vehicles.
Darren Maher, Group Development and Communications Manager, 21st Century, says: “It takes data from onboard systems and puts it into a single unified platform so you can see your data, and allows you to manage your operation in real time.
“Even more importantly, it can be used with existing systems allowing you to get the most of the systems that you’ve already invested in.”
The single access portal can report on all installed onboard systems connected to the Journeo Edge unit. The new module incorporates Remote Condition Monitoring and now includes the facility to manage CCTV downloads for all major DVR types without the need to visit the vehicle. Footage can be securely held in EvidenceSafe or transferred to authorised users and insurance companies.
“If the CCTV onboard the bus breaks down, the user will know within 60 seconds, as an alert will show up on the dashboard,” says Mr Maher.
“This is a far cry from the old system where the CCTV was serviced every few weeks and checked. If it broke down then, no-one would know until something needed checking and it was too late.”
The demonstration version used spoof data but visitors were able to click on an asset on the map on screen and see information, such as if there are any health issues on the ‘vehicle’ and allowed visitors to recreate issues to see the platform in action.
Mr Maher explains that the software has been developed in collaboration with customers.
“We work closely with our customers and listen to their needs.” he says. “A lot of our customers face similar challenges so the system grows evolves naturally and gives the operator what it needs.”
