IAA Show now open with over 2,000 exhibitors

Over 2,000 manufacturers and suppliers from around the world descend on Hanover this week for the biennial IAA commercial vehicle show.

Volvo is officially launching its plug-in hybrid 7900 single decker prior to production vehicles going into service with Hamburg, Luxembourg and Stockholm.

These adapted 7900 hybrids have an extended range in electric drive due to their ability to recharge the batteries at termini. Three prototypes have been operating in Gothenburg since 2013.

Irizar is displaying ongoing projects, including the new Irizar i2e (the Irizar Group’s 100% electric bus).

Innovations to be launched and previewed at the MiX Telematics stand include the latest version of the video recording system MiX Vision; a new, rugged in-cab MiX Rovi display as well as an Hours of Service (HOS) and remote tachograph data download solution for Europe. In addition, the company will be previewing MiX Go, a flexible field services app designed to help just about any business become more efficient.

With a premium exhibit piece at the IAA, Recaro is showing what is possible with commercial vehicle seats in terms of customisation: The “Western-style” seat concept is a one-of-a-kind seat based on the premium model Recaro C 7000 and is furnished with an exclusive cover made of saddle leather.

The IAA show runs from 25 September to 2 October.
