Kowloon Motor Bus to evaluate 146-passenger Wrightbus ‘decker


The first higher-capacity 12.8m Wrightbus double-decker has been delivered to Hong Kong operator, Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB). .

On a Volvo B9TL Euro 5 tri-axle chassis, the longer length vehicle has been designed to carry 146 passengers – eight more than the current maximum – and will be evaluated by KMB with a view to their future mass deployment on routes with high loadings.

Wrightbus International is responsible for the bodywork, with assembly by GT Bus.

The fully air-conditioned bus uses the Wrightbus Gemini 2 body and at 12.8m, it is 1.5m longer than the typical specification for high-capacity vehicles currently in territory.
