Majority of Stagecoach fleet now runs on biofuels

More than half of Stagecoach’s English and Scottish fleet – 4,500 coaches and buses – now runs on a blend of 30% biofuel/70% mineral diesel, compared with a standard fuel mix with 5% bio content. .

In addition, Stagecoach has 70 buses on 100% biofuel.

The biofuel – provided by Motherwell-based Argent Energy – has helped Stagecoach to save more than 67,700 tonnes of CO2 in the past year.

It started using 30% biofuel in October 2012 in Scotland.
