Weston-super-Mare coach operator Bakers Dolphin once again played a logistical role in the success of Weston Hospicecare’s flagship fundraising event, the Mendip Challenge, which took place on 1 June.

The South West firm provided six coaches free of charge to transport hundreds of charity walkers to their starting points in Wells and Cheddar, enabling participants to take on distances of five, 10, 20 or 30 miles across the Mendip Hills before finishing at Weston Cricket Club.

The event raised more than £78,000 for the hospice, which offers specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses in the Weston-super-Mare area.

“We are proud to have supported the Mendip Challenge once again, as we have for the past several years,” says Bakers Dolphin Sales and Marketing Director, Amanda Harrington. “It is one of Weston Hospicecare’s landmark events and it raises incredible funds for this amazing local charity, which supports people in their time of need.

“As a Weston-super-Mare business, Weston Hospicecare has a special place in our hearts and we’re pleased to be a part of this annual challenge.”
