Access from the cab to the passenger area is added on vehicles for Arriva; 22 will be delivered soon
Importer EvoBus (UK), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Buses, reported strong interest in its Mercedes-Benz Sprinter City 45 minibus at CBUK, and to satisfy the requirements of a major customer it has further added to the options list.
In 22 to be supplied to Arriva, the OEM driver’s seat has been replaced with one that has a pedal on the base to allows it to swivel towards the nearside.
Combined with an anti-assault screen that opens outwards, that allows the driver to move directly from the cab to the passenger area, removing the need for him or her to step into the road when the ramp needs to be deployed.
EvoBus (UK)’s deal with Arriva is another significant order for the City 45.
The dealership also has 12 of the type in stock and ready for delivery at its Coventry base, with Senior Manager Sales Ian Wallace explaining that three moquette trims are available but that all have wood-effect flooring, USB charging points and Hanover destination equipment.
They are built on 5,000kg GVW chassis and seat 17 passengers, with a further five standees.
