Xplore Dundee is backing a charter from RNIB Scotland that commits it to meeting the needs of passengers with a visual impairment, and recently held a ‘Swap with Me’ training session for its drivers to experience the barriers faced when travelling.
The charter asks that drivers approach stops slowly, not pull away before passengers are seated, and let them know when they arrive at their destination.
MD Elsie Turbyne says: “Everyone should have the same positive experience on our buses, regardless of age or ability.”
