Make the most of DCPC

In regard to the story about Peter Wright’s suspension of his PSV licence for driving without the Driver CPC (DCPC) qualification (routeone/News/22 November), the DCPC certainly has flaws, but raising drivers' professional status is a step forward.

Credibility has been damaged by some repeatedly doing the same module to tick the boxes towards the 35 hours. This is so bizarre it could not have been foreseen. Certainly avoid modules which are not relevant to the work you are doing and insist on high quality delivery. Otherwise the day or days are going to be what you make them.
