21st Century has been working with UK bus operators to demonstrate the benefits of integrating its CCTV as part of an ITxPT compliant solution.

Its first fully connected and fleet-wide solution, fitted for Halton Borough Transport, has been working successfully for over two years.

The core systems of high definition IP CCTV, passenger wi-fi and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) are combined in a single network for Halton, reducing costs.

21st Century is also trialling the Letsjoin app for passengers who subscribe to the Halton wi-fi service, to view tailored news and travel content.

Mark Johnson, Director of Fleet Systems for 21st Century says: “The plug and play approach of ITxPT enables additional systems to be added.

“Systems such as Automatic Passenger Counting (APC), passenger displays, telematics and driver behaviour systems are becoming increasingly essential to drive operational benefits, improve passenger experience and revenue reconciliation. These can all be easily integrated under ITxPT.”
