Spanish coachbuilder Indcar has completed the integration of minicoach and minibus builder Car-bus.net, which manufactures the Grand Tourer on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter base that is supplied in the UK and Ireland by EVM.
The integration of Car-bus.net into Indcar forms part of what the latter says is a strategic move around international growth and expansion plans. Indcar products on front-engined chassis were previously imported to the UK by Moseley prior to that coach dealership group ceasing trading in 2020.
By 2026 Indcar will produce more than 650 units with a workforce of 330. Car-bus.net builds 120 vehicles per year with 45 staff. The integration will significantly strengthen Indcar’s minicoach and minibus range, it says.
Indcar CEO Gael Queralt adds: “This deal represents a key milestone in Indcar’s growth strategy. We are convinced that this integration will bring great value to our customers and business partners, better responding to their needs and expectations, in order to further consolidate our leading position in the minibus segment.”
Car-bus.net CEO Jordi Monferrer continues: “Car-bus.net is extremely proud to enter into this integration agreement with Indcar, a leading company in the minibus industry in Europe.
“This integration ensures a stronger future for our team and our project, and opens up greater opportunities for growth and development in the European markets together with a company such as Indcar.”
The UK is cited as a key market for Car-bus.net. EVM Managing Director Danny McGee has confirmed that the integration has no effect on the coachbuilt Grand Tourer minicoach, with production to continue in the current location in Spain.
Mr McGee notes that EVM has strong orders in hand already for Grand Tourer deliveries in 2026.
