Andrew’s of Tideswell has welcomed its first new buses in a pair of Enviro200 10.8m models, built and supplied by Alexander Dennis. They are for Derbyshire County Council-subsidised route 257 between Bakewell and Sheffield that was taken up in early 2025.
Managing Director Russell Andrew says that the decision to go with the Enviro200s as the Peak District operator’s debut new buses in its 93-year history follows the successful trial of a demonstrator last summer.
“The size of the buses, the operating conditions, and the flagship status of our Sheffield route combined to make the Enviro200 the right choice for us,” adds Mr Andrew.
“We are very happy with the look and feel of the new buses, as well as their operational efficiency – and very excited for this new chapter in our long history.” Each of the arrivals is in Andrew’s well-known cream and red livery. They come with wood-effect flooring.
Speaking about the sale, Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Simon Wood says: “It is a pleasure to hand over these buses to Andrew’s of Tideswell, a well-respected and longstanding coach operator that is making a great success of its bus service work.
“I am sure that passengers will be very happy with the new buses, which I think underline Andrew’s commitment to the local services it has taken on. Many thanks to the team for placing their trust in Alexander Dennis.”
