David Ogden Holidays has expanded its growing Scania collection with the arrival of a new 53-seater Higer Touring built on a K410NI chassis.
The PSVAR- and GSR-compliant vehicle is a tri-axle with a 13-litre 410bhp engine and 12-speed Opticruise gearbox.
It comes with half-leather seats, wood-effect flooring, central toilet, and hot and cold drink dispensers.
The St Helens-based operator has bought all four of its Scania coaches in the last three years, taking its total fleet size to 11.
It marked its 50th anniversary last year by taking delivery of a third Scania Irizar i6S Efficient coach.
Managing Director David Ogden says his first Higer Touring was a considered choice for the operator’s UK and European holiday tours.
“I chose a Scania Higer Touring because it is the same running gear as my other Scanias at a more reasonable price, and the quality far exceeds my expectations.”
Having last year operated more than 300 tours and day trips, Mr Ogden hopes the new acquisition will further strengthen its reputation.
“It’s never easy to predict expansion in the area that we operate in, but I feel the introduction of high-quality vehicles and the Scania badge will help to maintain our position as a tour operator,” he says.
