Stephensons of Essex has ordered five more Alexander Dennis Enviro200 single-decks, continuing its longstanding favour of the manufacturer in that segment.

The vehicles will follow a recent delivery of the same number of Enviro200s, and nine in 2025 that were complemented by five Enviro400 double-decks. Of the forthcoming batch, three will be 9.7m examples with 34 seats, and the other two are to be at 8.9m seating 30 passengers. Delivery is due in the autumn.

Stephensons Chairman Bill Hiron says that the Enviro200 “has earned itself a primary position in our bus fleet with solid performance and great fuel economy, giving us a dependable and cost-effective workhorse.”

He continues: “We are therefore delighted to confirm our investment in another five buses, which will further enhance our customers’ journeys when they arrive in our fleet towards the end of the year.”

Adds Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Martin Dunleavy: “Stephensons of Essex is a fantastic example of the independent operators that are a pillar of the ALBUM group, delivering high quality services through consistent investment.

“Thanks to Bill and the Stephensons team for the confidence expressed through this repeat order, which will take the number of new Alexander Dennis buses in the Stephensons fleet to 24 in less than two years. We look forward to building these buses in our British factories in the coming months.”

Also relevant to Stephensons of Essex at the ALBUM conference was the presence of a first Treka CitySprint minibus conversion in the operator’s livery. It is based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Stephensons is among the first confirmed customers for the CitySprint, which was announced in 2025.
