County Durham operator Weardale Travel has purchased a 13.2m tri-axle i6 integral, supplied by Irizar UK (01909 500514).

It will handle incoming tourist work and cruise ship transfers, and so it is fitted out to a high specification.

Luggage capacity was a major consideration, hence the decision to go for a three-axle configuration, says Director Anthony Gibson.

“We do all maintenance in-house. We also get very good service support from DAF, and in the case of the i6 integral, from Irizar UK. The service engineer is a real soldier. We can call him out at any time, day or night,” he adds.

The coach has DAF’s MX-13 engine rated at 460bhp coupled to a ZF AS-Tronic automated manual gearbox.
