Ipswich Buses launches Ticketless smart platform

Ipswich Buses is the latest operator to launch UrbanThings’ smart ticketing platform, Ticketless.

Ticketless provides real-time information and mobile ticketing via QR code validation. Passengers can purchase tickets via smartphone, then validate them upon boarding.

By using the system, Ipswich Buses gains data on live passenger metrics and details on under- and over-served routes.

General Manager of Ipswich Buses Steve Bryce says: “We are always looking for new ideas to attract and retain customers so having our own app was the next natural step after successfully launching contactless payments.

“Carl and his team were very accommodating and showed a genuine interest in our requirements. They have worked seamlessly with our own team to develop and launch the app.”
