Hills Coaches adds a high-capacity Irizar i4 integral

Hills Coaches of Wolverhampton has added a PSVAR compliant Irizar i4 integral to its fleet, supplied by Irizar UK. It seats 71 in a 3+2 layout and has three-point belts along with wood-effect flooring.

Accessibility comes via the inclusion of a Masats lift, which has been integrated into the stairs at the centre doorway.

Irizar UK says that such an arrangement – which the Spanish manufacturer recently showed on an i6S integral model – offers an improved passenger experience and minimal incursion into underfloor luggage space.

Also part of the specification are white LED Hanover destination displays. The coach benefits from a lightweighting exercise carried out by Irizar in 2022, which reduced the mass of the i4 by almost 1,000kg. Such work delivered a claimed 5% fuel consumption reduction.

Power in the i4 integral for Hills Coaches comes from a DAF MX-11 engine developing 367bhp, which drives through a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox.
