Delaine Buses of Bourne has added an Enviro400 City to its fleet, supplied by Alexander Dennis. It is the first new double-decker for the family operator from that manufacturer, and complements a number of Enviro200 single-deckers supplied in recent years.
The bus is finished in Delaineā€™s traditional livery and entered service in early October. It also saw use during the Omnibus Societyā€™s presidential weekend around that time, with Anthony Delaine-Smith this yearā€™s President. There it ran alongside a member of Delaineā€™s heritage fleet.
Carried on the upper bodyside panels are graphics to commemorate 100 years of Delaineā€™s service between Bourne and Peterborough. Ā Eight images of previous buses used on that link are displayed on each side.
The Enviro400 City has a conventional panelled staircase rather than a glazed example, allowing the offside decal to be displayed in full. As is customary with Delaine Buses, it also carries a cherished registration mark that includes the letters DBL.
