Somerset Passenger Solutions (SPS) is celebrating being named “Gold” winner in the Outstanding Supplier Partnership category at the Hinkley Point C (HPC) Excellence Awards last week.
SPS, owned by First Bus, caters for the transport needs of HPC, the largest construction project in Europe.
The annual awards, held this year in Weston-super-Mare, are open to all businesses linked to the HPC project and recognise work in the fields of both project delivery, and people and behaviours. It is the third time in four years that the company, which now has more than 400 employees, has won the award.
Simon Cursio, Managing Director, says: “We beat tough competition from many great companies and I am supremely proud of the team. Landing the very prestigious accolade at the HPC Excellence Awards is just reward for their efforts. This recognition rounds off a challenging but very positive year for SPS as the business continues to grow and we hope to exceed the expectations of our client and passengers once again in 2023”.
EDF CEO Simone Rossi was among those present at the awards and praised SPS for their work towards net zero.
