The latest in a spate of nationwide bus battery thefts took place last week at Go South Coast’s Morebus depot at West Street, Ringwood.
The raid, overnight on Wednesday/Thursday, saw thieves make off 12 batteries from 12 buses, delaying services the following morning.
Replacement batteries and vehicles were provided from other depots to get services on the road for the peak.
