Llanwrst, North Wales-based Llew Jones Coaches has won a “substantial” contract with the National Express to run the new 555 route from Bangor to London, which started on Monday (20 February).
It has bought a pair of new Scania Levante coaches to operate it.
The contract has also created jobs for seven drivers, recruited to run this service.
Llew Jones MD Steve Jones says: “We are really pleased to have secured such a substantial contract with National Express as we know how high the standards are.
“What this demonstrates to all SMEs in North Wales is that we can compete with larger national and multi-national companies if we have the right people and infrastructure in place.
“At Llew Jones, we are proud to be able to offer secure and varied employment to local people with passion and commitment and we continue to invest in their training and development throughout their career with us.”
“With its skilled and dedicated team of network drivers, Institute of Road Transport Engineers Certificate (Irtec) maintenance staff, and experienced Contract Monitoring Team, Llew Jones is determined to reach the National Express Gold Standard for Service at the earliest opportunity.”
