FlixBus is celebrating its second anniversary in the UK by offering £2 fares on new and expanded routes across the country.
The rapidly expanding coach brand is making the discounted tickets available on 21 routes when purchased before 1 May.
The 19 new routes include London to Peterborough and Stevenage, Aberdeen to Dunfermline and Edinburgh, and Leicester to Liverpool and Warrington.
The special one-way fare, which does not include the £1 service fee, is also available on Bristol to London and on the Aberdeen, Perth, Dundee, Stirling and Glasgow route, which are benefiting from an expanded service.
Flixbus says the offer is only available for journeys up until 31 July but the booking site currently shows the reduced fares available after that time.
The operator is also offering a 20% code for all of its other 29 services in the UK.
Flixbus is today (21April) offering free birthday cake and Starbucks vouchers to passengers at London Victoria Station, as well as free cake at Edinburgh bus station.
Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus UK, says: “We believe transport should be affordable, sustainable and accessible to everyone. Response from the UK public to our service has been phenomenal, so we wanted to give something back to our passengers for our second anniversary.
“We’re really delighted to be adding more routes and destinations on our network than ever before, offering customers more opportunities to explore the country for as little as £2. It’s going to be fantastic celebrating with customers in London and Edinburgh at our birthday events too!”
Flixbus, which launched in 2013, has rapidly grown in the UK and is aiming to take over as the leading express coach operator in the country. Last autumn it announced a 94% increase in customer numbers between April and September compared to the same period in 2021. The company reported global revenue of more than £1.3bn last year – an increase of 85% over 2021.
