Abbey Coaches of Glasgow has returned to Alexander Dennis for the supply of a Volvo B8R with Plaxton Panther bodywork. The latest coach follows delivery of an example of the same combination in late 2023 and others received before then.
The newcomer is a 57-seater with what Alexander Dennis describes as a “comprehensive” specification. It is PSVAR compliant, with that configuration including destination displays and a mid-mounted lift and additional door, above which is cantrail lighting.
Speaking about the arrival, Director Christine Walker says: “Last year’s Plaxton Panther has smoothly settled into our fleet and it is great to be adding this additional coach now. We will be using it on private hires and tours, for which the versatility of Plaxton coaches is ideal.”
Adds Alexander Dennis Retail Sales Director Charlie Miller: “The loyalty shown from Abbey Coaches through the years, from buying every used vehicle from us before buying new vehicles every year, is never taken for granted.
“I am delighted and thankful to once again be doing business with a lovely family.” The coach is completed by polished alloy wheels and a cherished registration mark in the operator’s customary format.
