Erith, Kent-based Abbey Travel has returned to EvoBus (UK) (02476 626000) for two more Mercedes-Benz Tourismos, following a previous order from 2014.
The new coaches – supplied by Dawsonrentals – are built to Touring specification and they have 51/53 seats finished in Travel Star Eco fabric with leather inserts, and the seats also have drop-down tables and three-point belts.
A Bosch audio-visual system is fitted combined with twin 19in monitors, and uprated 4G wi-fi provision allows passengers to remain connected when on the move.
Power in both coaches is from the OM 470 engine rated at 390bhp coupled to the eight-speed Powershift 3 automated manual gearbox. As with all Tourismos, Brake Assist, an electronic stability programme and lane departure warning are fitted.
