Bailey’s Coaches of Thatcham has stuck with Irizar UK (01909 500514) and taken delivery of two more integral coaches: an i4 and an i6. They join an i4 integral delivered in 2015.
The new i4 integral seats 70 and is chiefly for work with private schools. The i6 integral has 57 seats and will assist the two i4 integrals on school duties, but also be available for private hire and tours.
“The first i4 has performed very well for us, and got great driver and customer feedback, so another one was a natural choice,” said Darren Gale.
His wife and fellow director, Emma, adds: “The i6 offers us flexibility for extended tours, though it will also be used for our schools work.”
The 12.9-metre i4, like its older sister, has Baileys' favoured Ecolife fully automatic gearbox, and is equipped with CCTV, an audio system, additional marker lights and, of course, three-point seatbelts.
The i6 Integral has a toilet, DVD system, reversing horn and camera and is also a fully-automatic, with ZF's Ecolife gearbox.
The Gales bought Baileys 20 years ago, after Darren had left his career in the Royal Navy as an engineer. Together with Emma, he runs a fleet of 18 vehicles.
