East Yorkshire Coaches has added a new Mercedes-Benz Tourismo L to its fleet, supplied by EvoBus (UK). It is to top-of-the-range Premium Plus specification and is PSVAR compliant.
The three-axle, 14m coach carries 57 passengers in Luxline upholstery and it has a centre sunken toilet. Seats have footrests and drop-down tables. Accessibility is via a factory-fitted lift behind the front axle that combines with three pairs of ‘tip up’ seats that can be shuffled together to provide space for a wheelchair user.
Silver LED destination displays are also fitted, while the driver benefits from a leather multifunction steering wheel, a heated seat, a reversing camera with periphery lighting and a camera above the continental door.
A further Tourismo comes after “overwhelmingly positive” experience with earlier examples, says East Yorkshire Coaches, and a need for larger coaches in the private hire market.
Managing Director Ben Gilligan adds that EvoBus (UK) “was our first choice when we decided to invest in the fleet this year.” The coach will be used on day trips, holidays and private hire duties and it is finished in the refreshed East Yorkshire Coaches livery that was introduced in September 2020.
