The new Optare Metrocity for Go Coach is in this commemorative livery

Go Coach of Sevenoaks has purchased a 10.8m Metrocity, supplied by Optare (01977 687200).

The 37-seater is painted gold to mark the operator’s 10th anniversary and it is used on route 431 between Orpington and Sevenoaks. For passenger comfort it has both USB charging points and a CD player.

“We are pushing customers to use their phone to track the bus and access service information,” says MD Austin Blackburn.

“A well-used phone may not last a day. Passenger consultation has shown that most people have 4G, so Wi-Fi is now not needed.”

The bus has a Euro 5 Cummins engine rated at 201bhp coupled to an Allison 2100 gearbox. The operator already reports that it has garnered positive passenger reaction.
