Maynes Coaches of Buckie has taken delivery of three new Neoplan Tourliners, supplied by MAN Truck and Bus. One is a 13.9m P22 tri-axle with 61 seats and two are 12.1m P21 two-axle models that seat 51.
Maynes Director Kevin Mayne says the Tourliner was chosen thanks to an attractive package from MAN and an attentive local dealership. “We know the staff at MAN and Elgin Truck and Van Centre very well,” he adds. The coaches will be used on UK and European tours along with private hires and corporate work. Mr Mayne adds that their livery “will be revealed soon.”
Each Tourliner has the MAN D26 engine. In the P21s it is rated at 430bhp and coupled to ZF’s EcoLife automatic gearbox, while that in the P22 develops 460bhp rating and drives through an AS-Tronic automated manual transmission. The coaches also have the revised B-pillar design that improves the view for the driver and front row passengers and improves aesthetics.
Delivery of the three Neoplan Tourliners represents a return to MAN for Maynes. Retail Coach Sales Executive – North, Scotland and Northern Ireland Chris Hunt notes that he is “delighted” to welcome the Moray operator back to the marque. The coaches will run alongside earlier examples of the Tourliner and a Neoplan Starliner in the Maynes fleet.
