Shuttle Buses of Kilwinning, Ayrshire, has taken delivery of a 9.2m Solo from Optare (01977 687200), taking its fleet of the type to 16.
The Euro 5 Solo will operate a service between Irvine and Stewarton that is subsidised by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport. It seats 30.
Says Shuttle Buses Owner David Granger: “We have operated Solos for many years on both commercial and subsidised services.
“They are particularly fuel efficient and very good at meeting our requirements for seating capacity, while still being of a size that permits ease of operation in urban residential areas and more remote rural locations.
“The purchase is part of our continued commitment to making buses attractive and easy to use.”
