Zen Travels of Darlaston has taken delivery of a third new coach in as many years in the form of a Scania K410NI with Touring bodywork, supplied by Scania UK.
It is a 60-seater and PSVAR compliant. Arrival of the tri-axle Touring takes the West Midlands operator’s fleet to nine. In addition to the three coaches purchased new, it has a further trio of others along with a bus and two minibuses.
Operations Manager Anthony Burrows notes that the company’s first new coach was a Scania Irizar, followed by an initial Touring. He adds that the Touring’s build quality has appealed alongside its good value for money and high capacity, which makes the type “a great all-round coach.”
Mr Burrows adds how Zen Travels carries a lot of larger groups and that features such as USB charging points, a boiler and media facilities are positives.
The newcomer will be used on tours and premium private hire applications. Good fuel returns from the Scania chassis were a further factor in returning to the Swedish manufacturer.
Supplied with the latest Touring is a two-year repair and maintenance package that will be handled by Scania dealership and service point Keltruck of Willenhall.
