Gerallt Evans (pictured) has been appointed Traffic Commissioner (TC) for the North West of England and Victoria Davies has been appointed TC for Wales. Both take up their positions next month.

Mr Evans succeeds Simon Evans. He has over 30 years’ experience as a solicitor, most of which has been spent with the Crown Prosecution Service. He is currently Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor with responsibility for all prosecutions in Magistrates Courts in Wales.

Ms Davies has over 25 years’ legal experience. Since 2010 she has worked as a senior lawyer managing the Welsh Government’s transport team. Prior to that she spent eight years with DfT as a senior advisory lawyer.

Says Ken Skates, Assembly Member for Economy and Government in the Welsh Government: “I am pleased that the new TC for Wales is committed to continuing to improve her Welsh language skills to ensure the provision of a bilingual service.”
