Pupils and staff at Middleton School in Ware, Herts, have been presented with a new and specially-adapted The Lord’s Taverners minibus.
Middleton School is a primary school catering for 87 pupils aged 4-11 with special education and complex needs.
The 15-seater will enable staff to transport them to activities in the local community during and after the school day, including days out, educational visits, festivals, horse riding and swimming.
Says Headteacher Donna Jolly: “Minibuses enable our pupils to go out and about in the local community to all sorts of events, which is important to them.
“We are very grateful to The Lord’s Taverners for our new minibus, which will help us to provide these opportunities for all of our pupils.”
Since 1976, The Lord’s Taverners has placed over 1,150 of its green minibuses into schools across the UK.
They provide disadvantaged and disabled young people with the chance to engage with their local community by giving them access to the facilities on offer and building important life skills in the process.
