Highways England has unveiled a £282m plan to solve jams on the M42, largely created by traffic going to/from events at the nearby National Exhibition Centre (NEC).
Works will include changes to the existing Junction 6, with the A45. A new road from the A45 Clock Interchange, south of the railway station, will go to a new junction on the M42, south of Junction 6.
Construction is expected to start in 2020 and completion is due in 2023.
