London hotels and theatres brand follows ‘Albatross London’ in merge
Wholesaler Albatross Travel is merging its London Hotels & Theatre Service (LHTS) business into the Albatross Travel brand.
The move follows a similar merger between Albatross Travel and Albatross London 18 months ago (Coach Monthly, News, December 2015).
LHTS Sales and Operations will now be located at Albatross Travel’s Head Office in Larkfield, Kent. Phil Taylor, Head of London Product, and Alison Hart, London Reservations Coordinator of Albatross Travel’s London buying team, will relocate, reporting to Denise Bridges, Managing Director, Albatross Travel.
“Despite the challenges in the external business environment, the Albatross Group goes into the new financial year on the back of one of its most successful years since the company was established in 1985,” says Ms Bridges.
“However, the increasing costs of maintaining a separate central London office no longer makes commercial sense, particularly given the proximity of the Larkfield office to the capital.
“This was not an easy decision, particularly given the long tradition that the LHTS brand has in London. However, through our London buying team, we remain committed to providing our customers with a dynamic and value-for-money programme of accommodation, theatre tickets and other events, in what remains one of the most exciting capital cities in the world.”
Albatross Travel is part of the Albatross Group, which moves 6,000 groups a year through the UK and Europe. It won the ‘wholesaler’ category in the British Coach Tourism Awards for the seventh time in March.
