Alexander Dennis has announced its cybersecurity management system (CSMS) has been re-certified in accordance with the latest regulations.
The United Kingdom’s Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) has carried out this renewal, as well as certifying the manufacturer’s software update management system, according to UNECE Regulations 155 and 156 respectively.
Alexander Dennis says the move shows its commitment to the highest standards of cybersecurity, ensuring the design, production and ongoing support of its battery-electric buses are comprehensively protected.
VCA experts analysed the manufacturer’s documents, tools, templates and processes against the regulations, also carrying out interviews with key members of staff.
The software update system allows Alexander Dennis to enhance functionality on an ongoing basis in a secure fashion.
The business says it has invested more than £1 million over the last four years to strengthen these systems.
Chris Gall, Group Engineering Director for Alexander Dennis, says: “Achieving certification under UNECE Regulations 155 and 156 is a significant milestone that reflects our unwavering commitment to cybersecurity and software integrity.
“We are proud to have put robust cybersecurity and software update management systems in place and have their compliance recognised by the VCA. This gives us a solid framework to protect our and our customers’ data, assets and technology.”
