Kelsie Dugmore, a fourth-year engineering apprentice based at Arriva Cannock, has recently won major recognition at the 2018 IRTE Skills Challenge, which took place in June.
She not only scooped top marks in the DVSA vehicle inspection category, but was also a part of the Arriva UK Bus Team that won the award for Outstanding Apprentice Team.
As a reward for her success, she has spent a fortnight at the engine refurbishment unit at Jesmond depot (Arriva North East), where she has rebuilt a bus engine under the guidance of one of the specialist engineers there.
This happens to be the 100th engine that Jesmond has refurbished.
Kelsie’s engine has a plaque bearing her name and she has painted the whole assembly in the colour of her choice.
