The 24-year-old was awarded with a trip to the Scania factory and training facility in Sweden, and the chance to help a truck-racing team at Brands Hatch.

Adam Roper from Stagecoach’s Chesterfield depot was also in the spotlight at the awards event after gaining the year two depot vote.

Dave Heptinstall, Stagecoach Yorkshire Engineering Director, says: “Matthew is an enthusiastic and motivated apprentice and goes above and beyond in his duties day in, day out.

“For him to win this award for two years running is very well-deserved and wonderful recognition of his efforts and performance – everyone at Stagecoach is thrilled for both Matthew and Adam.”
